Yves Mankel
Yves Mankel (born November 12, 1970 in Gotha ) is a German luge athlete .
Yves Mankel began his sporting career on the Spießbergbahn in Friedrichroda . Together with his partner Thomas Rudolph , he won the silver medal in men's doubles at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville . In addition, the two won the silver medal at the 1991 World Championships in Winterberg . The two athletes at BSC Winterberg became German champions in 1994 and 1996, and in 1995 they achieved third place. They also came in second overall at the Luge World Cup in 1992 and 1996.
For his sporting achievements, he received the Silver Laurel Leaf from Federal President von Weizsäcker on June 23, 1993.
