ZM Top Secret

ZM Top Secret is a series of children's books by Marliese Arold . The ZM stands for time machine and at the same time explains the content of the books.

The children Michael and Heike Jaschke visit their great-uncle Professor Ambrosius Köhler during the summer holidays. He is a passionate inventor and has built a time machine in his basement laboratory. This has some pitfalls, and so the two of them experience the most unbelievable adventures again and again with the neighbor boy Thomas Pahl and his dog Moorteufel.

Books

The series was published by Pelikan Verlag Hannover in the 1980s . The first volumes appeared as a sub-series in the series Treffpunkt Abenteuer (TA), the first two volumes being reissued at the end of the 1980s and supplemented by the new volume The Last Night of Troy . Then Pelikan discontinued the paperback series.

In 1990 there was a continuation of the ZM series as a hardcover, illustrated by Frank Rosenzweig , which starts with the numbering again at 1.

Parts of the second series were reissued by Erika Klopp Verlag in the 2000s, but the protagonists and their background are different: the professor is now called Magnus Ambrosius and has a grandson (Benjamin), whose mother has died. Benjamin's friends are Melanie Jeschke and Thomas Pahl. Moorteufel is now called Major. The first two versions of the time machine do not appear, and neither do Ms. Schneider, the professor's housekeeper.
