content

The film Tender Parasites depicts the love story of Jakob and Manu. They live in the forest and take a shower in the swimming pool. As a source of income, Manu is currently looking after Mrs. Katz and Jakob is flattering himself with the married couple Claudia and Martin, whose son has died.

Martin asks Jakob to take his son's place. When Mrs. Katz dies and Manu wants to move away, Jakob decides to stay with the couple. Manu pays the couple a visit and pretends to be Jakob's sister. When two police officers appear the next day with a photo of Ms. Katz, Manu and Jakob, the lie is exposed. Martin protects Jakob from the police, but when he then confronts him, Jakob flees to Manu.

In the end, they meet again at a coastal town and Jakob has the opportunity to convey to Martin that his feelings were real.

Reviews

"The little film not only shows one of the most beautiful sex scenes in German cinema, but also tells a smart story about emotional transfer achievements - love as a commodity."

- Christian Buß, Spiegel Kultur : DER SPIEGEL

"In order to be able to do their own thing, they have to be tough, including against themselves. Because of this ambiguity, which is as realistic as it is poetic, Tender Parasite is an unusually clever title for an unusually clever film."
