history
Finkenwalde was founded in 1750. He belonged to the Randow district in Pomerania in the Kingdom of Prussia . In 1821 Prince Friedrich Wilhelm (later King Wilhelm IV.) Visited the place.
In Finkenwalde, excursion restaurants and a lookout tower for foreign guests were built in the 19th century. In 1882 a train station was built on the route to Altdamm . During this time, the large Portland Cement Factory Stern was built at Langen Strasse 120. From 1905 to 1913, the organ builder Felix Grüneberg built a new organ building factory with a production hall and several workshops that employed up to 65 people.
In 1935 the Protestant theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer opened a seminary of the Confessing Church. This was closed again in 1937 because of his critical stance on the Nazi regime.
In 1936 another train station was built in Buchheide. In 1939 the community of Finkenwalde was incorporated into Stettin with Augusthof, Katharinenhof and eight other places to live.
In 1945 the place became part of Poland and has been called Zdroje ever since . In the 1960s, the Zaborsko (Buchheide) station was demolished and a new Zdroje station was built 800 meters away.
