Blazon : "In gold a black and silver standing lapwing."

The municipality decided on August 30, 1995 to include the lapwing, which occurs very frequently in the village area, in the coat of arms. Because this bird has been gathering by the thousands at a certain point for generations, there is even an area in the district that is still called "Lapwing Pieces" to this day.

The coat of arms was designed in 1995 by the Magdeburg municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch .

The flag is black and yellow (1: 1) striped (horizontal shape: stripes running horizontally, lengthways shape: stripes running vertically) and centered with the coat of arms.

traffic

To the federal highway 246 , which connects Magdeburg with Bad Belzig , it is approx. 700 m southwards. The federal motorway 2 with the connection point Burg-Ost (74) is reached in 16 km.

There is a stop on the Biederitz – Altengrabow railway line .
