Ziying was the son of Fusu , the eldest son of Qin Shihuangdi , who was the first ruler of the Qin. As King of Qin, Ziying killed Zhao Gao , a powerful eunuch . He soon had to cede his empire to Liu Bang , a powerful rebel, who handed him over to the Xiang Yu . After only 46 days as ruler, Ziying was killed by Xiang Yu.

The Shiji speaks of at least two sons of Ziying.
