Zygmund Przemyslaw Rondomanski

Zygmund Przemyslaw Rondomanski (born October 22, 1908 in New London , Connecticut , † January 5, 2000 in Independence , Missouri ) was an American composer and cellist of Polish descent.

Rondomanski studied composition, music theory and harmony at the Institute of Musical Art (later the Juilliard School of Music ) with Percy Goetschius until 1935 , then completed cello training at the Conservatory of the University of Missouri – Kansas City and composition at the Conservatory of the University of Chicago .

He was principal cellist in the string orchestra of the Kansas City Conservatory of Music under Francis Buebendorf and the Independence Symphony Orchestra, and as conductor of the Groton Symphony Orchestra . Since 1943 he lived in Independence / Missouri.

Rondomanski composed over three hundred and fifty works, including orchestral pieces, numerous marches and pieces for classroom use.
