Dorota Pomykała (born 3 July 1956) is a Polish actress.[1] She made her screen debut appearing in supporting role in the 1979 historical drama film Ojciec królowej and the same year had uncredited part in the comedy-drama Provincial Actors directed by Agnieszka Holland. Since then, Pomykała appeared in more than 40 motion pictures and received three Polish Film Awards. She also received Robert Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Kajs fødselsdag (1990).[2] In 1989, she received Bronze Cross of Merit.[3] In 2023, she received City of Kraków Award.[4]

Pomykała was born in Świerklaniec, Poland. She graduated from the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków in 1979.[3] She later began performing on stage productions in Kraków and Warsaw. For her leading role in the 2022 drama film Woman On The Roof, Pomykała received Polish Academy Award for Best Actress and Tribeca Festival Award for Best Actress in a Narrative Feature Film.[5]
