The sleeve flap was part of the uniforms of the German army. In particular, the sleeve belong patte the so-called Brandenburg surcharge on the sleeve of his tunic , not on the dress uniform.

The sleeves flap now formed the rectangular part of the Brandenburg charge which vertically above the edge of the garnish protruded and wore three buttons skirt same metal buttons. It was mostly the same color as the trim, but could wear the color of the tunic. Later the colors white, yellow or blue were used, regardless of the color of the skirt or the trimmings.

To distinguish the army corps from one another, the sleeve flaps often had a different colored passepoil .
