Austrian Illustrated Newspaper

Österreichische Illustrierte Zeitung , from 1900 Austria's Illustrated Newspaper , was the title of an Austrian newspaper that initially appeared three times a month in Vienna from 1894 to 1938, later weekly or fortnightly.

Over the years, the newspaper was published with different titles. In 1899 it received the addition "fiction family sheet". In 1922 the title was added to “Modernes Familienblatt; current weekly ", published in the following year by" Deutsches Familienblatt; Weekly ”was replaced. From 1936 to 1937 the newspaper received the addition "Weekly for all Austrian issues". In addition to the regular edition, there were also supplements to the newspaper in various years. From 1898 the free supplement “Illustrierte Jugend Zeitschrift” and from 1898 to 1899 “Interesting Novel Library” and “Cheerful Leaves” were added. In 1899 the “Illustrierte Frauen-Zeitung” and the “Colonial-Zeitung” were also published. In 1922 the magazine “Oesterreicher abroad” was added to the newspaper, in 1924 “Bergwelt” and in 1928 “Kinderland”. From 1936 to 1937 a supplement with the title “Art Show” was published. The successor to the Österreichische Illustrierte Zeitung from 1918 to 1922 was the Wiener Illustrierte Zeitung.
