Rough approach

Scheme of the sequence of movements

Rolling action is the military term for a certain type of troop movement. In each case, one part - usually around half of the troops to be moved - goes so far that the remaining forces can support it with fire if necessary. Then this part takes positions , ensures that the remaining forces are pulled up to their own height and their further action, as far as it can support them with fire. The preceding forces are constantly overtaking one another. In contrast to this, a procedure in which only the securing part is pulled is called a caterpillar-like procedure .

A rash approach is used not only by combat troops ( infantry , tank troops ), but also by anti-aircraft troops or artillery . In these, it describes a process in which part of the forces is always ready to fire while the other moves into the next position.

A rash approach can be used in all types of combat .
