The Ürkmez dam ( Turkish Ürkmez Barajı ) is a dam on the Ürkmez Deresi, a tributary of the Aegean Sea , in the province of İzmir in northwest Turkey .
The Ürkmez dam is located 20 km south of the city of Seferihisar, just under 2 km from the coast. It was built between 1985 and 1990 to irrigate an area of 345 hectares. The barrier structure is a 32 m high embankment dam . The dam volume is approximately one million cubic meters. The reservoir covers an area of 60 hectares with normal damming. The storage space is 7 million m³.
