The vehicles of the ČSD series 455.1 were quadruple-coupled passenger trains - steam locomotives of the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD).
history
The ten locomotives of the 455.1 series were the first steam locomotives developed for the ČSD that were no longer based on designs of the former kk State Railways (kkStB). They were built in 1924 by Českomoravská-Kolben as (ČMK) in Prague for the lines of the nationalized Košice-Oderberg Railway . The locomotives were initially manufactured and delivered as the 445.1 series. The 445.110 was the 1000th locomotive built by ČMK.
All locomotives were located in Košice . Around 1930 you increased the speed limit by increasing the diameter of the wheels, and the locomotives were then given the designation 455.1. During the Second World War they were part of the Slovenské železnice (Slovak Railways; SŽ). After 1945 they belonged to the Žilina depot , where they were retired until 1964 in connection with the electrification of their main lines.
None of the ČSD 455.1 series has been preserved in a museum.
