The ČSD series T 426.0 (from 1988: series 715 ) is a diesel-hydraulic gear locomotive of the former Czechoslovak state railway ČSD. It was specially procured for the Tanvald – Kořenov and Podbrezová – Tisovec lines . Because of their Austrian origins, the locomotives were given the nickname Rakušanka ("Austrian").

history

The locomotives were delivered in 1961 by Simmering-Graz-Pauker in Vienna- Floridsdorf. Locomotives of the same design were also procured from the ironworks in Ózd , Hungary .

With the commissioning of the locomotives of the 743 series (formerly T 466.3), which were specially equipped for steep sections , the cogwheel operation was abandoned at the end of the 1980s and the cogwheel locomotives were shut down.

The locomotives T 426.001 and 003 were retained and are available for special trips in Tanvald.
