properties

The central registry for all domains under the top level domain .dm and thus responsible for the operation of the domain is the company DotDM . Until February 2, 2001, the domain was administered by the University of Puerto Rico. The DotDM Corporation now manages the domain, which in turn assigned the operation of the ccTLD to a subsidiary of St. Ingbert- based Key-Systems at the beginning of 2012 . Associated with this was the transition from the top-level domain to a new technical system, which should lead to faster processing of registrations.

The registry assigns domains to everyone. Some second-level domains are restricted to a special user group ( .edu.dm and .gov.dm ). The WHOIS service does not provide any personal information about the domain owner, so that this remains virtually anonymous. However, due to high registration fees, .dm is not very popular internationally.
