Domains can be registered without a place of residence or branch in the country, so they are also open to foreigners . In 2012, the registry made use of the so-called Fast Track Process of ICANN , as part of which it introduced fully internationalized domain names . In addition to .lk , the top-level domains .ලංකා ( .lanka ) in Sinhala and .இலங்கை ( .ilangai ) in Tamil have existed since then . As early as 2010, the registry introduced the option of registering at least domains under .lk in these languages.
