.uy is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Uruguay . This top-level domain was registered with the IANA on September 10, 1990 . It is technically managed by the Servicio Central de Informatica company on servers in Montevideo , Uruguay and other countries.

Award criteria

Anyone can register .uy domains, there are no registration restrictions. In particular, no residence or branch in Uruguay is necessary. In addition to domains on the second level, the registry also accepts orders for third-level domains. Initially, only .com.uy was available for this purpose; since July 10, 2012, the domains .edu.uy , .gub.uy , .org.uy , .net.uy and .mil.uy have also been available.
