.wf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

.wf is the country-specific top-level domain (ccTLD) for the French overseas territory of Wallis and Futuna . It was introduced on November 14, 1997 and is administered by the Association Française pour le Nommage Internet en Coopération ( AFNIC for short ). Along with .bl , .gf , .gp , .mf , .mq , .pm , .re , .tf and .yt, it is one of the domains associated with .fr .

history

After the introduction, it was initially not possible to register .wf domains. However, thirteen addresses were registered in 2008 at the request of the Wallis and Futuna governments. Since December 6, 2011, the same criteria apply to .wf as to .fr, so any domains can be registered.

criteria

In principle, all natural and legal persons with residence or branch in the European Union , Switzerland , Liechtenstein , Iceland or Norway are allowed to register a .wf domain. Private individuals must indicate their date and place of birth when registering.
