1st division (chess) 1998/99
The 1998/99 season was the 37th season of the 1st division, the then top division of the Danish team championship in chess .
The SK 1934 Nykøbing won all competitions and was 11.5 points ahead of the defending champion Gistrup Skakforening Danish champion. The Brønshøj Skakforening and Hansa Office Nordre had risen from the 2nd division . The two newcomers took 6th and 7th place with equal team and board points and thus carried out a playoff to determine the second relegated next to the Espergærde Skakklub . Brønshøj won the playoff with 4.5: 3.5, but since the Gistrup Skakforening withdrew from the 1st division, Nordre also remained first class.

The competitions were held on November 1, 14 and 15, 1998, January 17, 1999, February 7, 1999 and on March 20 and 21, 1999.
