1st division (baseball)

The 1st division is the lowest division in Swiss baseball. It is divided into the groups West, East and Central. The groups West and Central consist of five, the group East of four teams. As a result, 16 games are played in the West and Central groups and 12 in the East.

The mode in the first division is quite complicated. The placement games take place after the main round.

  • Group fifth (Central and West): two-day tournament for 13th and 14th place. Organizer is the team from the West group.
  • Group fourth: day tournament for places 10–12. The organizer is the team from the West Group.
  • Third group: day tournament for places 7–9. The organizer is the team from the Central group.
  • Group runner-up: day tournament for places 4–6, fourth place takes part in the semi-finals of the playoffs.
  • Group first: Playing in the semi-finals:
Group West versus Group Central
Group East against the winner of the runner-up tournament
  • B final: loser HF 1 versus loser HF 2
  • Final: Winner HF 1 against winner HF 2

The finalists go straight to the NLB . The participants in the B final play the third and fourth places, they can be nominated in the event of a team's license being withdrawn from the NLB.
