The 3 Pagen Versand und Handelsgesellschaft based in Alsdorf near Aachen is a special mail order company for decorative, household and health items . 3 Pagen has been part of the Damartex Group since October 1st, 2016.

history

3 Pagen was founded in 1954 under the name "Aachener Wollhandelsgesellschaft mbH" as a subsidiary of the French mail order company 3 Suisses and originally only had knitting wool and handicraft items in its range.

The company location near Aachen , in the triangle between Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, is due to the proximity to the French parent company and was built by the Aachen construction company Grünzig GmbH . The first catalog was sent out in 1955. In the same year the company name was initially changed to 3 Schweizer Strickwolle GmbH and in 1956 to 3 Pagen-Strickwolle GmbH . 3 Pagen has also been active as a mail order business in Austria since 1958 .

In 1960, after a new name change, today's 3 Pagen Versand und Handelsgesellschaft was established , which mainly specialized in sending gifts and new products. With the participation of Otto-Versand in the French mother company 3 Suisses , 3 Pagen became part of the Otto Group in 1974 . In the following years the company grew profitably in the reunified Germany and in 1993 it sold over 17 million articles for the first time. At the beginning of the new millennium, 3 Pagen entered the online mail order business, first in Germany and then in Austria. It has also been active in the Czech Republic and Slovakia since 2008.

After the rumors were confirmed in 2016 that the parent company 3 Suisses wanted to undertake a radical restructuring, talks in September 2016 with the French Damartex Group led to the fact that Damartex bought 3Pagen-Versand with effect from October 1, 2016.
