531 (juggling trick)

The siteswap 531

531 is a juggling trick that involves juggling three objects. All three objects are thrown at different heights and reach the highest point of the pattern at the same time. This trick takes its name from its siteswap , 531.

A special feature of this trick is its expandability: you can juggle extensions of the trick with any number of objects. The first number is preceded by the first number increased by two. The rules of the siteswap notation must be observed. Similarly, tricks 7531 exist for four objects, 97531 for five and so on.

The fact that each of the juggled objects must be thrown differently makes this trick difficult to learn. Many well-known jugglers therefore incorporate this type of juggling trick into their juggling, as it also looks very effective.
