history

A. de Luze was founded by Alfred de Luze in Bordeaux in 1820 to supply his brother Louis-Phillip's New York company with cognac. From 1824 de Luz traded in wines and cognacs. The company later established subsidiaries in England, India and Russia. During the reign of Napoleon III. supplied Baron de Luze to royal courts in Europe. Alfred de Luze died in 1880 and his grandson inherited his business. In 1927 A. de Luze became the official supplier to the Danish royal family. In 1980 it was bought by Rémy Martin and is still part of Rémy Cointreau today .
