AATiS

The AATiS (Working Group for Amateur Radio and Telecommunications in Schools) is a non-profit association based in Harsum with the aim of offering adolescents meaningful leisure time activities and a specific professional orientation, particularly in the direction of technical and scientific courses. He supports teachers in designing the training. The association has been registered since 1994. It has (2016) over 600 members throughout Germany and several neighboring countries.

The association deals intensively with the following areas:

  • Amateur radio applications
  • Telecommunications and networks
  • Meteorology, aerology, climatology
  • Geo- / spatial sciences / satellite technology
  • Actuators, sensors, robotics, photonics
  • Electronics, microcontrollers, etc. a. m.

He develops electronic kits, supports projects on stratospheric balloons and floating buoys , advertises ideas competitions on technical topics and offers advanced training for teachers.

The magazine Funkamateur reports on the activities of the association every month .

Publications

The association issues the following publications:

  • Practice booklets for radio amateurs, teachers, youth leaders and electronics hobbyists (annually), including instructions for electronic kits developed by the association
  • semi-annual circulars
  • CDs and DVDs with computer programs and texts from practice books
