AA Caldense

The Associação Atlética Caldense , usually abbreviated as AA Caldense , is a Brazilian football club from Poços de Caldas .

history

In September 1925, the Football Club Parense was founded , which had already existed between 1904 and 1920. In April 1926, the local rival Gambrinus Futebol Clube was founded , both clubs merged in 1928 to form AA Caldense.

For a long time, the AA Caldense played in the second division of the state championship of Minas Gerais . In 1971, the team won the championship there and in 1972 rose to the top division of the state for the first time. In 2002 the club won the national championship for the first time, and it also took part in the Brazil-wide Copa do Brasil several times . In 2007 the club rose again to the second highest class of the state championship of Minas Gerais, after two seasons the promotion succeeded. In the 2015 season, the team placed themselves at the top during regular time without defeat, in the subsequent play-offs they made it to the finals, but Atlético Mineiro prevailed there and after a 0-0 draw with a 2-1 -Award win - the only loss of AA Caldense during the season - the national championship.
