The Abacus Business Software is a business management standard software for SMEs of the Swiss software company Abacus Research AG.

Functionality

Abacus Business Software comprises an overall ERP solution with software modules for invoicing , order processing, production planning and control, performance and project accounting and management, service and contract management , address management / CRM , financial accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset accounting, payroll and human Resources and offers functions such as integrated cost accounting, archiving, electronic banking, information management, e-commerce and e-business. The services are to be offered via the SIX Open Banking Hub in 2019 .

Versions

Abacus G4

For the fourth generation of the Abacus software, the user interface has been completely redesigned and has a tidy, modern design. The control surface of «G4» can be individually adapted to your own needs and operated even more intuitively. The improved clarity and the freely configurable work surface contribute to more efficient work. The users define how the software optimally supports them in their work.

Abacus Enterprise

Abacus Enterprise is the Abacus Business Software product line for SMEs and is based on Abacus vi technology. The scalability enables the software to be used in companies of different sizes. Abacus Enterprise is modularly expandable thanks to the various applications for integration into different work environments. The standard software Abacus Enterprise can be adapted to changed requirements and individually configured using customizing functions such as designable masks or expandable database tables. This industry-independent orientation enables universal applicability. Abacus Enterprise is used in different industries.

AbaLight

AbaLight is the Abacus Business Software product line for small businesses and is compatible with Abacus Enterprise. AbaLight has an open and modular structure and the modules can be combined with one another or used individually. A switch to the Enterprise version with extended functions is possible.

Industry solutions

The Abacus Business Software provides industry solutions that cover the specific processes of the various specialist areas. The Abacus Enterprise product portfolio forms the basis for the development of industry solutions. Specific industry solutions are AbaBau main construction trade, AbaBau construction ancillary trade, AbaImmo, AbaWebTreuhand, public administration and energy supply.

In 2003, according to a study by the Northwestern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, almost 16 percent of the ERP programs used in Swiss companies with 10 to 250 employees were versions of the Abacus software, leading in front of the products of SAP AG with just under 6%. In 2010 around 35,000 companies were using the software. In a survey of ERP providers published in May 2011, Abacus vi reported 3300 installations in the retail and production sectors, ahead of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, the largest number in Switzerland.
