The AN / SPG-53 is a ship-based fire control radar , which by the US Corporation Western Electric was produced.

The SPG-53 is responsible for controlling the Mark 42 multi-purpose gun. It was manufactured by the US group AT&T after the company acquired Western Electric. The system is used in conjunction with the Mk 68 fire control system and works in the frequency range from 8.5 to 10 GHz with a constant output of 35 kW. From the SPG-53E version, it is also possible to detect projectile impacts on the water and to adjust the fire control accordingly. The system can also be used to simulate hostile EloGM activities.
