The site ARD.de is the central portal of the ARD . ARD.de forms together with tagesschau.de , sportschau.de , boerse.ARD.de and DasErste.de the joint presence of ARD Online. This is one of the German-language websites with the greatest reach . ARD.de is under the overall control of Südwestrundfunk and is created by the ARD online editorial team in Mainz .

history

ARD.de went online in 1996 and was gradually expanded into the ARD roof domain from 1999 onwards . Since April 2003, access to all ARD's online presences has been bundled via this internet portal. This means that the sites of tagesschau.de, sportschau.de, boerse.ARD.de and DasErste.de are linked to one another, but they can still be accessed directly. Since May 2008, the then newly launched ARD media library has also been one of the ARD.de offers. Sönke Vaihinger was the editor-in-chief from 1999 to July 2016, and Thomas Laufersweiler since August 2016.

deals

Because ARD.de serves as the umbrella domain, the top topics of the individual categories are presented on the home page . The categories are "News", "Sport", "Stock Exchange", "Advice", "Knowledge", "Culture", "Children", "ARD Intern", "Television", "Radio" and "ARD Mediathek".

The "News" section is created by the tagesschau.de editorial team at NDR in Hamburg . The "Sport" section is designed by sportschau.de at WDR in Cologne , the "Börse" section by the boerse.ARD.de editorial team at HR in Frankfurt am Main .

The content for the "Advice", "Knowledge" and "Culture" sections are compiled by the ARD.de editorial team in Mainz. In doing so, contributions are created as well as selected online offers from the state broadcasting corporations and community facilities of ARD are linked. The ARD offers for children can be found under the heading "Children".

The "Television" section is created by the DasErste.de editorial team, which is part of the Erste Deutsche Fernsehen program department in Munich . The categories "ARD Intern" (a self-portrayal of ARD), "Radio" and "ARD Mediathek" (the audio and video portal of ARD) are in turn created by the ARD.de editorial team.
