Abbot (racing car)

Abbot was a British Formula 3 team in the 1970s.

In 1966, Norman Abbot founded a small company with the aim of building a racing car for the English Formula 3 championship. The project had to be adapted to new regulations several times in the planning phase and could only be implemented four years later. When the pleasant and compact car was finally ready in 1970, the company ran out of money. A second place in the Formula 3 race at Silverstone in 1970 was the only countable success. Until 1972, the car was used again and again by young drivers who valued the vehicle, which was underpowered but easy to drive. At the end of the 1972 season, the car and team disappeared from the British race tracks.
