Abdoulie Ceesay (* in the 20th century) is a Gambian sports official .

Life

Ceesay was elected as the new President of the Gambia Badminton Association in November 2019 . Shortly after his election, he promised to make the game one of the most popular sports in the country through the school system within the next four years. For Ceesay, his association will step into action by bringing the game to the grassroots to attract new players and fans who will get the sport on the rise in no time. "I'm optimistic that badminton competitions will begin soon in most of the country's zones," he told The Chronicle . "This will be the result of the effort my team will make." Badminton equipment was previously donated to the Gambia College or Gambia College Students' Union (GCSU) to ensure that they can start practicing the sport as soon as possible.
