Abitina

Abitina ( Avitina ; genitive Abitinae ) is the name of an ancient city that was in the Roman province of Africa proconsularis (now northern Tunisia ).

Roman inscriptions are known from Abitina.

In late antiquity, the city was a bishopric, which was assigned to the ecclesiastical province of Carthage ; the titular bishopric Abitinae goes back to this . For the martyrs of Abitinae, see Martyrs of the Holy Books .
