Process log

A running log (Engl. Trace ) is a chronological documentation of events ( protocol ). It is about the "What was when?", But also about the "How, who and why?" In the case of a detailed process log.

Process logs are used in various areas:

  • A project progress log documents all decisions and activities of a project .
  • A process log of a meeting is also called a process log .
  • A sequence log in computer science is the documentation of a program sequence , which in German is usually referred to as a trace . It is used for tracing during error and program analysis and can typically be displayed in a table using a trace viewer.
