Achi no granny

Achi no Omi ( Japanese 阿 知 使 主 ; lived in the 3rd and 4th centuries) was a Korean prince who came from the late Han dynasty .

life and work

In 289 he settled in Japan with a large group of Korean immigrants. Emperor Ōjin gave him the village of Hinosaki in Yamato Province . In the year 307 Achi no Omi traveled to East China to the land of Go and brought with him some women who were trained in weaving. They taught the Japanese in this craft. He then received the position of Kurōdo (蔵 人) in the administration at court.

Achi no Omi is the ancestor of the aristocratic families Sakanoue , Harada and Akizuki .
