Adam ML Tice

Adam ML Tice (born October 11, 1979 ) is an American church musician, hymn poet and composer.

Career

Tice studied after attending high school in Elkhart ( Indiana ) at the Mennonite College Goshen . In addition to a theological training, he had composition lessons a. a. with Lee Dengler . During his studies he began to work as a choir director and church musician. After graduating from college, he took courses at the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in 2003 and began to write his first hymn texts.

His first hymn text Breath of God, Breath of Peace appeared in the hymnbook More Voices of the Macalester Plymouth United Church . In 2007 he completed his training as a Master of the Arts with a thesis on the depiction of the life of Jesus in Mennonite hymn books of the 20th century. From 2007 to 2012 he was an associate pastor at Hyattsville Mennonite Church in Maryland. In 2001, his brass arrangement of Jesus, Lover of My Soul received first prize in the composition competition of the Institute for the Study of American Evangelicals .
