An adenovirus vaccine is a vaccine against respiratory infections caused by adenoviruses .

The adenovirus vaccine consists of unattenuated viruses and is administered orally. It contains two vaccine strains (type 4 and 7) against which neutralizing antibodies are induced by the vaccination . It was first registered in the USA in 1971 for use in the US Army . Production ceased in 1999, but an almost identical vaccine was approved for the US Army in 2011.
