Adolf Hitler Medal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Adolf Hitler Medal was an award donated by Adolf Hitler and awarded by the Reich Association of German Animal Welfare Associations (Reichstierschutzbund) from November 1933 to people and organizations who had made special contributions to the protection of animals.

The medal was designed by Emil Paul Börner and manufactured by the state porcelain factory in Meißen , bore a portrait of Adolf Hitler and the words “I am a resolute opponent of cruelty to animals”. The inscription goes back to a quote from Hitler that was published in the German press in 1933 after the seizure of power and the full wording was "I am a resolute opponent of animal cruelty, which will no longer exist in the new Germany".
