Agradoot
Agradoot was a film collective of Bengali cinema . Behind it stood a group of film technicians who were jointly responsible for the direction under this name.
The core of the group was formed in 1946 and consisted of Bibhuti Laha (camera), Jatin Datta (sound), Sailen Ghosal (film laboratory), Nitai Bhattacharya (screenplay) and Bimal Ghosh (production). Bibhuti Laha was the driving force; he was still directing under the name Agradoot after most of the others had already left the group and working under his own name as a cameraman.
In the 1950s and 1960s, they directed several commercially successful company comedies with Uttam Kumar such as Agni Pareeshka (1954) and the early color film Pathe Holo Deri (1957). Her film Lalu Bhulu (1959) was also successful as a Hindi remake called Dosti in 1964, directed by Satyen Bose .
Filmmakers who were temporarily members of the film collective include Saroj De , Salil Dutta and Arabinda Mukherjee . Other Indian film collectives were Sabhyasachi, Agragami, Yatrik, Chitra Rat and Chitra Sathi.
