Acute clinic

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An acute clinic is understood - in contrast to a day clinic or a rehabilitation facility - to be the classic hospital in the sense of an inpatient, acute therapeutic facility. In addition, the term acute clinic includes the provision of an emergency clinic as well as pre-, post- and partially inpatient (possibly also outpatient) care.

The legislature provides for the payment of all services in such an acute clinic in accordance with Section 39 (1) SGB V:

"... within the scope of the hospital's supply mandate [...], which are necessary in individual cases for the medical care of the insured in the hospital depending on the type and severity of the illness, in particular medical treatment ( Section 28 (1)), nursing, supply of medicinal, Remedies and aids, accommodation and meals; The acute inpatient treatment also includes the early rehabilitation services required in individual cases and starting at the earliest possible point in time.
