The Akzo Nobel Deco GmbH is a German subsidiary of the Dutch company AkzoNobel . Until 1994 it was a direct subsidiary of BASF as BASF Deco GmbH . In 2007, through the acquisition of ICI Paints Deco GmbH, the German subsidiary of Imperial Chemical Industries , one of the world's largest manufacturers of paints and varnishes , was integrated into the company.
Herbol (wall paints), Levis (lacquers), Sikkens (lacquers and glazes), Hammerite (metal paint), Dulux (wall paints and lacquers) as well as Molto (fillers etc.) and Xyladecor (wood protection) belong to their brands .
The Zweihorn division is based in the Hilden branch.
