Alelion

The Alelion Energy Systems AB is a Swedish manufacturer of batteries for forklifts, based in Gothenburg . At the beginning of 2018, Alelion took over the insolvent German Caterva GmbH, Pullach, for 14 million Swedish kronor . With the takeover, Alelion secured Caterva's patent portfolio for networked energy storage systems.

At the end of 2018, Alelion was awarded a EUR 1.8 million loan from the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT) for the further development of the networked storage solution.

On May 14, 2019, insolvency proceedings were opened for Alelion Energy Systems GmbH by the Munich District Court (Ref .: 1507 IN 1020/19). As insolvency administrator, RA Dr. Marco Liebler, Nymphenburger Straße 4, 80335 Munich. Only buyers of the 10 KW storage from Caterva can upgrade to the free OpenEMS software to enable continued operation; buyers of larger storage do not have this option.
