Alexander Friedrich Brändle (born January 30, 1923 in Weingarten (Baden) , † March 2, 1984 in Bruchsal ) was a German children's book and science fiction author and poet.

Life

Alexander Brändle was born in 1923 as the second of seven children of the paper manufacturer August Brändle and his wife Anna Maria Magdalena (née Kölble) in Weingarten / Baden. After attending primary school in Weingarten, he attended high school in St. Blasien and Baden-Baden . As a result, he completed a commercial apprenticeship in his father's company and served in the Navy in Norway from July 1942 to August 1944 . After returning from the war, Brändle ran a lending library in Bruchsal until the beginning of 1950. This activity was followed by a phase in which he worked as a representative for various companies, then from 1957 he was employed as a commercial clerk at LBS in Karlsruhe .

Between 1965 and 1982 he wrote 13 books, including four science fiction works, nine children's books and two volumes of poetry. In addition to this work, various poems have also been published in other works as well as a western as an audio book.
