General agricultural and forestry newspaper

The Allgemeine land- und Forstwirthschaftliche Zeitung was from 1851 to the end of 1867 the official organ of the " kk Landwirthschafts-Gesellschaft in Vienna " provided with imperial approval from June 18, 1812 . The periodical was preceded by the “Niederösterreichische Landwirthschaftliche Wochen-Blatt”, which the Society had published from April 3, 1845 to the end of 1848.

The Allgemeine land- und Forstwirthschaftliche Zeitung appeared weekly and contained numerous specialist articles as well as a permanent column with the "Negotiations of the kk Landwirthschafts-Gesellschaft in Vienna". From the day it was founded, July 5, 1851, until the end of 1865, the (chief) editorial staff was in the hands of Josef Arenstein (1816–1892). For financial reasons, the company gave the “Land- und Forstwirthschaftliche Zeitung” to its editor Hugo H. Hitschmann (1838–1904) on January 1, 1870 .

The successor to the Allgemeine agricultural and forestry newspaper was the Wiener Landwirthschaftliche Zeitung on January 1, 1868 .
