Old Stock Exchange (Wroclaw)
The Old Stock Exchange is a Neoclassical building on Breslauer Salt Market (formerly Blücherplatz, Polish. Plac solny).
history
The building was built between 1822 and 1824 based on a design by the architect Carl Ferdinand Langhans . It was initially built for the association for Christian merchants and rebuilt at the end of the 19th century. The building is now partly used by the Polish Telecom . There are two restaurants in the vaulted cellar.
architecture
The building was built in the classicism style. The four columns dominate the front and support a representative balcony. Above the entrance portal, two angels hold a medallion depicting a large gold “W”, which stands for Wratislava's first letter . The lobby of the house is equipped with large windows.
