Altyn , also Altynnik , (Russian алтын (ъ)) was initially a unit of account for six denga or three kopeks , later a name for the Russian 3-kopeken coin, initially made of silver or billon , later made of copper or a bronze alloy . The name originally comes from the Tatar language and means gold.
