The American Beverage Institute is a lobbying organization for the American beverage industry based in Washington, DC. It is one of the most influential political interest groups in the United States .

Among other things, the association tries to prevent restrictions on alcohol consumption and the lowering of the alcohol limit permitted in road traffic.

Opponents of the Association include medical organizations, several health insurance companies and the Association Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to German as "Mothers Against Drunk Driving," a parents' organization in the United States who are against the driving in drunken state involved.
