Ammistamru I.

ʿAmmistamru I. (by another count ʿAmmistamru II. ) Was until 1349 BC. King of Ugarit . He was a contemporary of Amenhotep III. and father of the historically better known Niqmaddu II. A letter from ʿAmmistamru I is preserved in the archives of Tell el-Amarna in which he asks the Pharaoh for military support against an unspecified enemy.
