Office for occupational safety

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The State Offices for Occupational Safety and Health (StÄfA) are the monitoring and advisory institutions of the federal states for safety and health at work. In the course of administrative reforms in recent years, the StÄfA has been integrated into other authorities in many federal states, for example in North Rhine-Westphalia into the occupational safety and health departments of the five district governments .

tasks

One of the tasks of the offices is to monitor compliance with state industrial safety regulations . In their function as special regulatory authorities, they perform sovereign tasks. The state offices for occupational safety are also sensors for occupational safety problems and contact persons for employees as well as for employers in all matters of occupational safety and health in the world of work. They ensure the quality of the occupational health and safety system; that is, they coordinate all occupational safety related activities in the country.

cooperation

In carrying out their tasks, the state offices for occupational safety consciously seek contact with all persons, organizations and institutions involved in occupational safety. The aim is to achieve a partnership-based cooperation. This manifests itself in part in joint projects - so-called networks - such as B. INGA (Initiative Gesunde Arbeitswelt Münsterland), the round table Siegen or the project healthier working with a system .
