Serviceware Financial (formerly anafee ) is a proprietary software solution for the financial management of IT and shared services, developed and published by Catenic AG, a Serviceware SE company . It is used to automate controlling and is used in medium-sized and large companies. The main functions of Serviceware Financial include the creation of service catalogs, automated calculation and billing processes, and transparent reporting. System development and international support are carried out at the Munich-Unterhaching location of the manufacturer Serviceware SE (headquarters in Bad Camberg). Sales are carried out directly, through branches and through partners.

history

Serviceware Financial is developed by Catenic AG, a Serviceware SE company. Catenic AG was founded in 1999 and had its first office in Bad Tölz. Anafee was registered on October 22, 2001. The first versions of anafee were delivered in 2002 on a swing basis. In 2006 anafee was SAP-certified for the first time (SAP Netweafer) and delivered with a new user interface based on the "CaptainCasa" framework. In 2007 the company moved to Unterhaching near Munich and in 2014 became a company of the PMCS.helpLine Software Group, which went public as Serviceware SE in 2018. Anafee has been developed based on Angular (client) and Java (backend) since 2015. As part of a rebranding of the company in October 2019, anafee was renamed Serviceware Financial.

In 2017 anafee was listed in the "Gartner Market Guide for IT Financial Management". In 2018, the software was - according to a study by Research in Action GmbH - the market leader in the field of IT financial management.

Range of functions

The main goal of Serviceware Financial is the realization of a continuous, transparent controlling of IT and shared services. This is done by digitizing and automating all associated processes - including planning, budgeting, forecasting, chargeback - using benchmarks and other key figures.

The core of the Serviceware Financial software solution is the service catalog, in which all IT and shared services offered (e.g. purchased components and services, technical services, business services) are listed. Services are broken down into their sub-components and a causal relationship is established between the costs incurred and the value generated. This causal chain can be visualized using the software in a so-called value chain (“cost-to-service flow”). This is intended to make the actual benefits of services transparent and, among other things, to help in the identification and analysis of cost drivers in terms of holistic financial management. New services can be created with the help of an assistant (BSC).

Another function of Serviceware Financial is the so-called scenario-based planning. The key values (e.g. costs incurred, services purchased, service revenues) from earlier business cycles can be used to create planning scenarios derived from them. In these planning scenarios, individual variables (e.g. changes in unit costs) can be configured in order to project and analyze possible consequences.

The tariff management system enables the management of framework agreements, service level agreements (SLAs) and operational level agreements. The service tariffs are mapped individually depending on the customer. Processes such as monitoring, billing and the creation of reports take place specifically and individually according to customer, service, organizational unit and billing period. Reports can be output graphically and in different formats (XLS, PDF, HTML).

In addition to the features mentioned, Serviceware Financial offers processes for the automated creation and management of invoices, monitoring in the sense of regular plan-actual comparisons and options for transfer pricing documentation.

technology

The focus technology of the development of Serviceware Financial is the programming language Java for the backend. Java components such as the Wildfly Application Server with an integrated web server are used here. The web components of the software are based on HTML5 and build on the Java Application Server, while the database is based on the MS SQL Server. The software architecture has a multilayer structure (multi-tier application) with a persistence layer, a business layer for the process logics and a presentation layer for the front ends. Said front ends are made available by Serviceware Financial as a web client.
