Antisymmetry
In general, antisymmetry does not denote a lack of symmetry or evenness, but a special type of symmetry:
in mathematics:
- a property of a relation, see antisymmetric relation
- a property of a multilinear mapping, see multilinear mapping #Other properties
- a property of a matrix, see skew-symmetric matrix
- a property of a function, see antisymmetric function
in physics:
- in many-body theory a property of the many-body wave functions of fermions, see quantum statistics
- in mechanics the character of a mode of a Lamb wave
