Anuradha Mittal

Anuradha Mittal (* 1977 in Meerut , India ) is the director of the independent environmental research facility Oakland Institute in Oakland ( USA ).

Her research institute, founded in 2004, deals with all kinds of environmental issues, but also focuses on land grabbing (“ landgrab ”) in Africa and other parts of the world.

Mittal is a member of the advisory boards of several aid organizations and institutions such as the Right Livelihood Award (also known as the Alternative Nobel Prize ), the International Forum on Globalization and the board of directors of the (charitable) ice cream company Ben & Jerry's, where he takes care of social projects and that Brand image. She is also a member of the World Future Council .
